Congressional Country Club
The acclaimed Congressional Golf Course located in Bethesda features two courses—the par 70 Gold Course and the par 72 Blue Course.
The latter was the site of the 1964 and 1997 U.S. Opens, the 1976 PGA Championship and the 1995 Senior Open.
Tiger Woods also hosts his extremely popular annual PGA Tour event the AT&T National at Congressional Golf Course.
Those familiar with Congressional consider it a very challenging course. Its fairways are long and tight, and it is heavily wooded.
The most challenging hole is the par 4 17th, familiar to many television viewers.
It is 440 yards downhill to a peninsula green with the magnificent Congressional clubhouse as the backdrop.
The Blue Course is on Golf Magazine's list of the 100 Best Golf courses in the United States and the 100 Best Golf Courses in the World.
