Woodmont County Club is a private, member-owned country club in the Washington DC area. The club boasts two, championship 18-hole golf courses along with numerous indoor and outdoor tennis courts, swimming pools, and exercise/aerobics rooms. The two 18-hole courses at the Woodmont Country Club facility in Rockville, Maryland are the “North” course and the “South” course.
The North Course was built in 1951 and has ryegrass fairways, and the South Course was built in 1955 and has zoysiagrass fairways. The North and South courses are best known for their fast, small, sloping, and undulating greens. The North Course is a traditional golf course that features heavy tree-lined fairways that are narrow and overall the course is longer than the South Course. Men's and Women's US Open Qualifiers are also hosted on the challenging North course. Playing a bit shorter and with more room for error the South Course is a true shotmaker's course. Besides the excellent golf courses there is also a luxurious clubhouse with both informal and formal dining rooms and lounges.
